The Board of Directors of Landis+Gyr Group AG (SIX: LAND) has appointed Peter Mainz, member of the Board of Directors of Landis+Gyr and long-time former President and CEO of Sensus, a leader in the US smart metering industry, as the new CEO of Landis+Gyr with immediate effect. He replaces the previous CEO, Werner Lieberherr, who will reach the ordinary retirement age in spring 2025.

The Board of Directors is convinced that it has found an ideal succession solution with the appointment of Peter Mainz. Peter Mainz has been a member of the Board of Directors of Landis+Gyr since 2018 and, as the former President and CEO of a competitor for many years, is very familiar with the global industry and its challenges. He will remain on the Board of Directors of Landis+Gyr as a delegate until further notice while stepping down as Chairman of the Board’s Remuneration Committee and as a member of the Audit, Finance & Risk Committee respectively. This will ensure continuity and consistency with previously announced financial and strategic performance in the management of Landis+Gyr.
