Landis+Gyr Invests R$ 2 million in Environmental Stress Simulation Laboratory and Expands its AMI Equipment Testing Capacity in Brazil

This investment represents an important evolution in Landis+Gyr's commitment to product quality and reliability.

Curtiba, Brazil – December 9, 2021

Landis+Gyr (SIX: LAND) announced an investment of R$ 2 million in its Brazil product testing facilities to expand the capacity to test and simulate environmental adversities in environmental stress screening laboratory. The main objective is to maintain long-term product performance in harsh conditions and increase the value of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) devices.

With this investment in Brazil, Landis+Gyr will be able to test products in its own laboratory using an environmental stress screening methodology to anticipate the occurrence of defects caused by various forms of environmental stress, such as transport, unusual installations, and storage. This new level of testing will help mitigate possible failures that would cause anomalies in the field.

"By improving and expanding our testing capacity, Landis+Gyr reinforces its commitment to equipment and device quality,” said Oscar Villalobos, Vice President and Country Manager for South America at Landis+Gyr. “We are testing beyond regulatory requirements to ensure increased benefits for our customers and high field reliability. This investment reinforces our commitment to the electricity distribution market in Brazil and our regional leadership in AMI technology in South America."
