Description
The RF Router from Landis+Gyr is designed for outdoor installation. It supports RS232/485 serial interfaces for the TPP protocol and an RS232 serial interface for the LAN Packet Protocol (LPP).
The LPP protocol is used for communication between devices that utilize this technology, such as computers running diagnostic and configuration software or remote devices equipped with LPP. The TPP protocol provides a general-purpose data interface and is used to transport byte-oriented data, including data generated by industry-standard protocols.
In an AMI system, routers are used to establish a robust communication path to a data collector or to support Smart Grid applications. In Distribution Automation (DA) applications, the router is commonly interconnected with RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and other IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices), communicating with remote devices via RS232/485 TPP.
The router is available in 120/240 V AC/DC versions. An optional RF filter can be included to reduce interference.
FAST AND RELIABLE RF MESH WIRELESS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY
The Landis+Gyr RF Mesh Router helps form a powerful wireless RF network for remote data collection and for monitoring and control of end devices. The radio provides full bidirectional point-to-point communication with all devices within the network, such as metering endpoints or distribution automation devices.
The RF Router offers advanced functionality, including individual message prioritization, additional memory for localized intelligence, and a programming language (DCW) used to enable distributed device control. It is commonly deployed as a network router or directly connected to intelligent field devices such as reclosers, switches, and capacitor banks.
