Peter Mainz

Peter Mainz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is an Austrian citizen, born in 1964. Mr. Mainz was appointed CEO in November 2024. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Landis+Gyr since June 2018. He currently also serves as member of the Board at Metron Farnier. Mr. Mainz has been a Board member of Itron and Chairman of the Board at Metasphere Ltd.
Prior to this he served as President and CEO of Sensus and held other positions at Sensus including Executive VP of Operations and CFO. Earlier in his career he was in various positions at Invensys including VP Finance Metering Systems Division and was a controller at Schlumberger. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Computer Science from the Johannes Kepler University Linz and an MBA from the Texas A&M University.

Davinder Athwal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is a UK and US citizen. Mr. Athwal was appointed as Executive Vice President and CFO in April 2025. Davinder Athwal has over 25 years of global financial leadership experience. He joined Landis+Gyr from Phenom, where he was CFO. Prior to that, he held CFO positions within US-based companies, including Output Services Group, Avantax, and UGI International.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Davinder Athwal, holds a BA degree in Accounting & Finance from Kingston University, London, and an MS in Finance from Long Island University, New York.

Holger Klafs

Holger Klafs, Group General Counsel, is a German citizen. Mr. Klafs was appointed Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Landis+Gyr in November 2020 and to the Group Executive Management in August 2025. Holger Klafs has over 25 years’ experience in various global legal roles. He joined Landis+Gyr from Mann+Hummel, where he was Group General Counsel and Group VP. Prior to that he held Head of Corporate Legal and Strategic Execution positions in the financial markets industry with Deutsche Boerse AG and legal positions with Accenture and PwC. Earlier in his career, he was also a corporate and M&A attorney with the international law firm Mayer Brown.
Admitted to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law, Holger Klafs studied Law at the University of Constance and University of London (Queen Mary).

David Maclean

David has over 37 years of experience in the utility industry, with deep expertise in portfolio management, commercial strategy, and market development. Throughout his career, David has played a pivotal role in helping utilities transition to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and beyond through innovative smart grid technologies.
In his current role as Senior Vice President, David leads Landis+Gyr’s Asia Pacific operations, spearheading profit and growth initiatives across the region. He manages a team of over 1,000 employees, driving the delivery of innovative, AI-powered solutions that enable utilities to harness intelligent data for a more reliable and sustainable energy grid.
David has held multiple senior leadership positions within Landis+Gyr, both locally and internationally, including expatriate assignments in China and Singapore to accelerate growth in Southeast Asia. With a strong commercial mindset, he also contributes to Landis+Gyr’s global innovation efforts, exploring emerging technologies that create value for utilities in a decarbonized grid.

Prasanna Venkatesan

Prasanna Venkatesan, Executive Vice President and Head of Americas, is a U.S. citizen. Mr. Venkatesan was appointed EVP and Head of Americas in December 2024. He has been with Landis+Gyr since 2006. During his tenure at Landis+Gyr, Mr. Venkatesan has held several leadership roles, including Head of Strategy (2022 to 2024), Head of Americas (2014 to 2021), Senior Vice President and General Manager of Systems & Services for Landis+Gyr North America (2009 to 2013), and Vice President of Research and Development (2008 to 2009).
Prior to this, he served in senior roles at Cellnet Technology, Inc., including Vice President of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering, where he also led the integration of Cellnet Technology into Landis+Gyr following its acquisition in 2007. Prasanna Venkatesan holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, U.S.
